Hello there. My name is Doris Wakini Njoroge. I am 51 years old. I come from the Kikuyu tribe and live in Kiambu County, Central Kenya. I am gifted in the Arts and I sew, embroider, paint and design.
I specialize in the manufacture of soft toys, beaded baskets and jewellry. The materials I use in the production of my goods are largely sourced and manufactured in Kenya. The cloth for my "Wendani" The Kenyan Cloth Doll are African print Kitenge and Kanga, so is the inner lining of my beaded basket collection.
My "Wendani" Brand of products is made by the women and youth who reside in Kenya's Central and Eastern Provinces. I aim to protect the local textile industry and to create more jobs for Kenyans.
