Hello Achim
Am happy to provide an offer for your idea of the drawer.
Kindly have attached my sketch of the drawer the way it will be.
Have a look and see whether it's the way you want it.
Thank you
Esther

Hello Esther, did you see my drawing? I've uploaded it as an image again (it was previously in a different storage format) Your drawing deviates from my drawing. Could you please look again and change that? By the way, I would like to have dark wood. Which wood do you want to use?
Best regards

Esther Oriku (6. May 2018)

Hallo Achim
Thank you for your details of the drawing.
Now on the right of 50cm is it divided into six sections or it is one.
Two on the left it will be divided into two that's 27cm ÷2 = 13.5 cm
And what is the thickness .
The dark wood is mahogany.
Thank you
Esther

Automated Translation (8. May 2018)

left side is ok as it is 2x 13.5 cm - the knife block should be able to accommodate 6 knives in the thickness of 5 cm, the right side of the knife block should be sunk for the knife handle pad. Should no beech or walnut be available we would also take mahogany. LG Achim

Esther Oriku (9. May 2018)

Hallo Achim.
Thank you for your reply.
The 5cm is the height not the thickness. The thickness of the outside will be more thicker than the one inside for partioning.

Esther Oriku (10. May 2018)

Hallo Achim
Thank you for your reply.
The 5cm is the height of the drawer.

The thickness of the outside will be thicker than the inside.
Thank you
Esther

Automated Translation (15. May 2018)

Hello, Esther,
the 6 cutting edges should be sunk in the knife block ('Messerblock' in the drawing) on the right side of the drawer. The handles should rest on the right outside within the drawer.
If walnut is not available mahogany is also OK.
I ask for a short feedback before awarding the contract!
Kind regards
Achim

Esther Oriku (16. May 2018)

Hi Achim.
Thank you for your reply.
Kindly show by arrow where the handle will be.
What do you really mean when you say the edges will be sunk
Walnut will be available.
Thank you
Esther

Automated Translation (18. May 2018)

Hi, the blades should be sunk into the wood on the left side of the knife block and the handles of the knives should rest on the wood to the right. The knife block would then have a blade height of about 5 cm and the surface for the handles on the right about 1 cm in height. The overall size of the knife block remains at 50 cm x 27 cm as in the drawing - Walnut would be Ok!

Esther Oriku (23. May 2018)

Hallo Achim.
Sorry to have taken a few days to reply.
Everything is understood.
I will apply walnut.
When I reach that stage will send pictures of the furnish and give an okay.
Thank you.

Achim 20 Jul 2018 2:54 pm
Hello Esther, the knife block is 50cm wide & 27 cm deep - the length of the knife blades in the block 30 cm, the supports for the knife handles 20 cm!

Best regards Achim

Esther Oriku (23. July 2018)

Hi Achim
Thanks for your reply.
The measurements are clear.
Thank you
Esther

Esther Oriku (7. August 2018)

Hi
Sorry I have delayed to reply on time due to some activity that was holding me.
Otherwise I have done it.
Now there are some less measurements due to that we are dealing with the outside measurements.
The side of the 50cm will be less. Because the thickness of the division has taken some measurements.
Thank you.

Herman Sikoyo Busuru (12. September 2018)

Hi Achim,

I have done a review of the drawer insert and below are my comments.

1. The quality of wood is very good and up to standard.
2. On the section of the knife block, I have noticed the knives don't completely sink into the wood and there is a part of the knife blade that can be seen.
3. In terms of measurement of the width. At both ends of the insert the measurement comes to 27.1 cm and on the section of the knife block the width is measuring 27.6 cm, however the insert looks very straight and the only time it is noticed is after measuring accurately.
4. On the height, 90 percent of the insert is 5 cm as you request but there is a small section that is 4.8 cm. This is a very minor difference and can't be noticed by looking as in general everything looks very nice.

I believe the above comments are important.

Kind Regards
Herman
