The original wallet has edge protection and appears to have a cardboard insert for stability; I don’t need any of that. The wallet should be as flat as possible, and a divider in the bill compartment is also unnecessary.
The new custom-made wallet should therefore have one bill compartment and 11 card slots (3 on the left, 4 on the right, 2+2 in the middle).

To keep it slim, I would suggest using a firm but thin leather and keeping the card pockets staggered so the edges do not all stack in one line.
