The idea from Tobias from Wittighausen:
Enclosed I send a drawing for 1 set, but we need possibly 3 different bags.
The material can be a truck tarpaulin or similar robust material. Please ask for suggestions what makes sense.
Quantities are still small… we are just testing and building our shop.
Tobias
The customer's rating:
I am very happy about the bag from Evelyne. She made a very sturdy and stylish bag from my drawings. Evelyn has far exceeded my expectations with her realization. Little things like an extra pocket and the great padding in the bag are very well implemented. Our idea boards will now go on a journey.
There will be more pictures soon. I am very grateful to Evelyne for the great cooperation.
The story of the custom made backpack bags for our products (sets):
Negotiation phase
I can use tarpaulin as you have suggested. Heavy duty canvas would also work. Let me know if you would like to attempt this option too.
I have worked with canvas before, and usually have a standard fee for labour on canvas. I will transfer the same for tarpaulin.
Therefore i will give you a flat fee for each of the 3 bags in the set you sent. The price will include labour and materials.
Please let me know if you have an idea of the lining you would like. I usually use cotton with a tribal design, but if you would like it in a plain colour, please let me know.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Hi Evelyne, I think this is all great. Let me go into a little more detail, then I can give you more info in the drawings. Durable canvas is also good. Preferably monochrome.
So I need a few more days. I would then make you sketches and a rough dimensioning per bag. You'll have everything from me by Sunday. Then we can continue.
I am looking forward to it.
Thank you for your response.
Let me know which colours of canvas or tarpaulin will work best for you.
We have the option of black, beige, jungle green. I can also try to source for other colours that you may be interested in.
I look forward to hearing from you again.
Have a great day.
Hi Evelyn, I have uploaded a new drawing. Please have a look and if you have any questions please write directly. Please either in black leather smooth or combo fabric and leather underneath or something against water.
Important. It should be a backpack and a shoulder carry bag. Best thanks
Happy to hear from you.
I've looked at your design. We can do it in black pull up leather.
I can't read the writing on the shoulder straps. I wonder if there is something specific you need on the shoulder straps.
Hi Evelyn, there doesn't have to be anything on the shoulder pads.... it just needs to be adjustable!
Pull up leather is nice and fits.... Would you have anything else in linen or would you prefer leather. I'm worried it might rub off a bit and be a little sensitive. Could you imagine a combination? Also with other materials. Canvas or tarpaulin but preferably black for the time being.
Thank you very much!
I think black leather and black canvas could look great. It would also lower the cost a bit.
Hi Evelyn, we should give it a try.
What else do you need?
Would you like me to make you a template for the pocket flaps?
This would be important for the shape.
Then we can get started.
Tobias
I think that would be a good idea. I'll be happy to see your templates.
You can also send in any other parts of the pattern that you need to emphasize.
Looking forward to starting.
Have attached a drawing: The shape is important!
The pattern looks clear from my end.
I would like to start working on the project now.
Production phase
The bag is coming up fine. The pattern cutting is finished, and part of the bag is already stitched. It should be ready in 2 days.
I was initially worried that it's quite big. What is the intended purpose of the bag?
I hope you are well.
Your bag is ready. I want to upload a photo so that you can see how it looks like. Let me know if you would like any changes.
I hope you get the general idea of how the bag looks, the background in the workshop may hinder lighting and clarity. I will take a clearer picture with a neutral background and better lighting later on and share it. This is just to give you an idea of how it came out.

Hi Evelyn, I think the bag turned out well. Maybe you can send another picture or two of how someone has the bag on their back. And please tell me if you could make 5 more of these and how much they would cost then. I am looking forward to it. It looks very good.
I'm happy that you like the bag.
I've attached the photos with someone carrying the empty bag.
I've also attached a photo of the inside. This is the lining I ordinarily use in my workshop. I wonder if the colour works for you or if you would like to have it changed perhaps to a neutral colour.
5 more bags will cost the same as this one. The only cost that would change is the packaging cost and shipping due to size and weight.
We can be done with the 5 bags in the next 10 days.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you so much for the photos.
You made a great bag for me. I am looking forward to the package now. I'll let you know about the other bags.
