The idea from Michael from Frankfurt:
– Thick leather, but overall wallet as thin as possible.
– I am thinking of a saddle leather quality in brown (rather lighter brown).
– Stitching should be done with coarse lighter (maybe beige) sturdy thread.
– Overall, the wallet would be visually similar to so-called biker wallets, but much thinner in use. Therefore I think of only a few layers of leather (open to 2, closed to 4).
– On one side should be two "credit card compartments", in each of which 2 stacks of cards each 3 to fit cards (so a total of 6 to 8 cards).
– On the other side there should be a coin compartment (without snap fastener etc.), which is closed by folding the whole wallet in the middle.
– In the "central" fold of the entire wallet should be a bill clip (so-called dollar clip) can accommodate bills. How such a clip is connected to the leather, however, I do not know.
I think the wallet can be made even from one piece of leather. If necessary also from 3 pieces of leather or from 5 pieces of leather (see drawing).

Negotiation phase
My name is Humphrey Obell. I would like to realize your order.
The drawing is pretty much straight forward.
Kindly confirm the color of the you would prefer from the attached picture.
Hello Humphrey,
thank you for your message. Of the five leather colors, I prefer the one in the middle (the third from the left, so the lightest).
One more question from me: is it understood and feasible with the bill clip (so called dollar clip)?
Best regards
Michael
Thank you as well.
It is very feasible, as the bill clip is at the center. Though i know it will be limiting in the event you are carrying lots of coin and notes at the same time.
Best regards
Humphrey
Hi Humphrey,
ok, many coins and bills should not go in either.
Regards
Michael
Ok thank you.
I have all the information.
Regards,
Humphrey
Production phase
I have gotten a few pictures just to ensure we are on the same page.
As we already have the leather and we are just, clarifying a few things..
The circled /highlighted region represents different bits of your general idea.
Kindly give feedback.
Good day Humphrey,
on the 1st picture (...426) the solution with the clip looks good.
The other three pictures (...857, ...571, ...512) do not fit.
I have concretized my idea on a drawing and tried to make the leather layers clear. Also I have adapted the credit card
compartments adapted. An essential feature is still that the credit cards are arranged in two stacks next to each other (different from picture 1 with the opposite credit card compartments).
In addition, I have attached a photo of a so-called biker wallet to exemplify the desired leather thickness and homogeneity of the leather color (saddle leather).
Can you do anything with my explanations and pictures?
Greetings
Michael
Hello Humphrey,
the wallet looks very nice. If it is finished then I would take it. Can you please still see if coins stay in their compartment when the wallet is closed, folded.
Actually, according to my drawing, I had only thought of 2 compartments for the credit cards (not 8), in which 3 cards can be stacked each, without leather layers between the cards (to keep the wallet as thin as possible). But your solution looks good even so.
Best regards
Michael
I am glad you like it.
Ok i will send a picture with coins and the money clip.
The wallet compartment doesn't go all the way down that way it is not bulky.
I will send a picture once am at the workshop tommorow morning.
Best regards.
I have sent a picture of the final product.
The coins are ok once the wallet is closed.. The booklet we used is for illustration on how the money clip will hold money.
Thank you very much
Best regards,
Humphrey
Very nice , thank you
this is Vicky the local operations manager, I received your product and have shared some close-up photos with you so as to involve you in the quality check. So kindly look through the photos and let me know what you feel about them and whether we should proceed with the shipping once you are completely satisfied with the product.
Best regards,
Vicky Achieng.
Hi Vicky,
Thank you very much for your quality assurance. Yes, perfectly the purse has not been implemented. For me, commissioning it through Urban Change Lab was an experiment, a trial and error. With that in mind, I don't want to set my standards so high and agree with shipping to me.
Best regards
Michael
