This Custom Brass Triplet Hammer showed how a new tool concept could be turned into a working physical sample by Benter Otieno. The finished piece combined three striking faces in one head, making it a useful example for anyone exploring a custom brass prototype, specialty hand tool or invention sample.
- Request: The project was to make a single triplet hammer with three heads set around the center at roughly 120 degrees, based on a custom concept rather than a standard hardware design.
- Final result: The completed hammer was made in brass with a handle attached, and the final approved version included one square striking face, one tapered fin-style face, and one round rubber mallet face.
- Design details: The head was developed around approximate dimensions of about 6 cm from each working end to the handle hole, with the fin side narrowing toward the tip and a nail-pulling groove requested as part of the concept.
- Process: This item went through sample testing, shape corrections, casting, finishing and a later remake after quality issues were spotted, with progress photos and videos shared before the final version was sent.

The angle between all 3 hammers is 120 degrees each.
Naming in the drawing:
1 - track, 6 cm long to the hole for the handle, 2 cm wide and 2 cm high.
2 - Fin, 6 cm long up to the hole for the handle, at the beginning 2 cm wide and 2 cm high, at the end 2 cm wide and 5 mm high
3 - Rubber cap on fixing bolt, 6 cm long and 3 cm in diameter
4 - groove, 5 mm wide and 1 cm deep
5 - Hole for the handle, 2 cm round or oval

The round hammer (pointing to the right in the photo) should be SQUARE AND NOT ROUND!
Unfortunately, the left hammer with the white rubber is completely wrong (see my drawing triplet hammer-1 number 2)! It should also be squared and become narrower towards the tip!
If you can still mill out a groove there for pulling out nails, it would be nice. If not, it's fine too.
