The story of the two custom made wooden cutlery inserts:
Negotiation phase
Hi Brian, I would use cypress in that case.
There seems to be a mathematical error that I have corrected. Please look at the attached sketch and confirm on the measurements. (exclusive of the 1cm thickness of the dividers)
Hello Brian, so quite I do not get from your sketch and the designations clear.... I have tried to enter your designations again in my sketch, picture attached Actually, my dimensions are correct, the outer dimensions must also be kept so, otherwise the part does not fit in the drawer.
Hope that it is now more understandable
Production phase
We've just started working on your product, today we are purchasing the materials needed, tomorrow we sand it and join it, then do the final touches on Thursday-friday.
I have attached pictures and videos of the process so far.
What finishing would you prefer waxed with linseed oil, or vanish (seweco clear vanish) for the finishing?
Hi Brian, sorry, had already replied right away, there was probably something not working.... so : it looks good and I would prefer waxed with linseed oil as finish, thank you!
all right, I'm glad 🙂
I have attached more videos and pictures of the progress so far
Hi Brian, unfortunately I can not open the videos (mp4) this time and new pictures have not arrived here either ? 🙁 Maybe you try again ?
thanks and many greetings
Doris
Hi Brian, now I could open the pictures, I like it very much and I am looking forward to it!
many greetings Doris
Great, looks great! I assume that you still sand it a bit so that no sharp edges are on it?
Thank you very much and greetings Doris
Hi Brian, well linseed oil would be my preference as it is natural, with antique oil I don't know what is in it.... If you can't get linseed oil then maybe I would oil it myself here....
But maybe you're still lucky 😀
Perfect! This is great!
Hi Brian, I would rather have rounded edges :-), thank you!
Hi Brian, leave it as it is, it looks good! I think I was confused by the term "sharp", of course I don't want to hurt myself on the edges but it doesn't look like that in the pictures.
Yes, agree, it looks very good, thank you!!!
My name is Noel Waiganjo, local operations manager, Kenya. I'm currently reviewing the quality of the trays and I've noticed that whereas the workmanship is amazing, one of the trays is 49.1 cms long instead of 49.5 cms while the width is 26 cm long instead of 26.3 cm wide. Neema has explained that this is as a result of sanding and smoothening the trays. Do these measurements still work for you? Kindly let us know and we'll ship the trays to you as soon as possible.
regards
Noel
Hi Noel
That is still fine for me. So can you send it off. Many greetings. Doris
